Del Mar Academy is a brand new P-8 neighborhood school in the Del Mar area of Aurora, Colorado opening in August 2023. This school is the result of hundreds of hours of community meetings and input around how to best utilize the smaller schools in the area. Lyn Knoll Elementary, Sixth Avenue Elementary and South Middle School have closed and these attendance areas are combined into this one, new building. The attendance area is between 6th Avenue to the north with Alameda to the south, Peoria to…
the west and Chambers to the east and includes the following neighborhoods within the Del Mar region: Lyn Knoll Hoffman Heights City Center North City Center South Aurora Hills Highline Villages Del Mar Academy's enrollment consists of the entire student population of Sixth Avenue Elementary, a nearby P-5 elementary school that closed in May of 2023. All of our data--yearly school performance and trend data--is from Sixth Avenue Elementary. In our inaugural year (2023-24), we have 675 students in grades P-6 which includes two center -based Significant Support Needs classrooms. We will add 7th grade in the 2024-25 school year and 8th grade in 2025-26 school year.
