St. Vrain Valley Schools, organized in 1961, is nationally recognized for rigorous academics, technology, innovation, and a wide variety of outstanding co-curricular activities through inquiry-based and student-centered learning. Located approximately 30 miles north of Denver, in a region with one of the fastest growing economies in the state, the district is the 7th largest in Colorado, serving students across a 411-square mile geographically diverse area that includes 13 communities with ... St. Vrain Valley Schools, organized in 1961, is nationally recognized for rigorous academics, technology, innovation, and a wide variety of outstanding co-curricular activities through inquiry-based and student-centered learning. Located approximately 30 miles north of Denver, in a region with one of the fastest growing economies in the state, the district is the 7th largest in Colorado, serving students across a 411-square mile geographically diverse area that includes 13 communities with a population of about 207,500 residents. Offering a full range of high-quality educational programs and services for students in grades PK-14, St. Vrain Valley Schools is able to continue delivering rigorous academics and exceptional learning opportunities while meeting the needs of a rapidly growing economy through the support and investment of its community. Voters approved a $189 million capital projects bond and $16.5 million mill levy override in 2008, a $14.8 million mill levy override in 2012, an additional $260 million capital projects bond in 2016, and — most recently — a $739.8 million capital projects bond in 2024. St. Vrain Valley Schools was awarded two major federal grants: the $3.6 million ‘Investing in Innovation’ (i3) in 2010 and $16.6 million ‘Race to the Top’ in 2012. St. Vrain Valley Schools has received $50 million dollars in competitive grant awards since January 2018, which includes $7 million from the state-funded ‘Opportunity Now’ grant awarded in 2023 to increase workforce development and work-based learning opportunities. Additionally, St. Vrain has over 120 district-level industry and corporate partnerships. These important relationships provide expertise, mentorship, and resources to ensure that St. Vrain is a leading district in providing opportunities that students will need to be successful beyond graduation. St. Vrain Valley Schools has achieved the highest on-time graduation rate of any district in the Denver Metro area at 94.3%, and the highest of any district in Colorado with more than 300 graduates. St. Vrain’s Hispanic graduation rate, at 90% is also the highest of any district in the Denver Metro Area. In addition to the highest graduation rate in the Denver Metro Area, St. Vrain also has the most rigorous graduation requirements at 24.5 credits. St. Vrain Valley Schools is proud of its signature programs for students that are first of its kind and/or nationally recognized including four Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) programs, Pathways to Teaching (P-TEACH), Mobile Innovation Lab, Cybersecurity Mobile Lab, Underwater Robotics, Drone Performance Team, Advanced Manufacturing Academy, Toyota TECS Program, Artificial Intelligence Student Team, and many more. By building a solid foundation with an exceptional school board, strong leadership, and excellent teachers and staff; prioritizing school safety and student well-being; providing innovative learning and instructional opportunities; and partnering with families, elected officials, business leaders and its community, St. Vrain Valley Schools continues to advance excellence for its students, schools, and community.
