Office Responsibilities

  • Manage library operations and staff: Debbi MacLeod
  • Customer service, processes donated monies, maintenance of database: Emily Serna
  • Maintains computers & server for the library: Teresa Kalber
  • Provide customer service to patrons via telephone, email, and walk-in:
  • Receiving and shipping of patron book requests and inventory: Tod Zeigler
  • Supervise volunteers, SER workers and Community Service individuals: Terri Marcotte
  • Supervise studio volunteers and the creation of talking books for the Studio Program: Tyler Kottmann


Major Projects

  • Xess: This project involves depleting old inventory of Braille and cassette book recordings. It is reported to the National Library Service three (3) times a year. Tod Zeigler and Emma Serna
  • Annual Giving: The friends of the Colorado Talking Book Library hold an annual fundraiser to our registered patrons requesting donations. All gifts are recorded and deposited, and thank you letters sent out. Debbi MacLeod and Emma Serna
  • Outreach: Travels the state of Colorado as an advocate for the library providing information and marketing to individuals who may have a need to take advantage of our services. Debbi MacLeod *** Newsletter: Our patron newsletter is distributed via email or online every Spring, Fall and Winter. In addition to the regular newsletter, our Fall edition contains lists of patrons and family members of patrons that have made general donations and donations in memory/in honor of a patron.   • Elections Blue Book: Each election cycle, the Colorado Legislative Council creates and prints the Colorado Blue Book, an analysis of ballot issues or current and past elections. CTBL records this as soon as the file is available and posts the MP3 audio files on our website. Tyler Kottmann
  • Patron Open House: Every year in July, CTBL conducts a patron open house for our patrons. We provide tours, snacks and technical training for new/upgraded machines. Debbi MacLeod
  • Anually in December: Our Volunteer Coordinator hosts a brunch at the Lakewood Country Club for volunteers to be recognized by their peers and the library. Terri Marcotte
  • Recording Studio: Records books by Colorado authors, about the Rocky Mountain region or requested by patrons. Tyler Kottmann
  • Summer Reading Program: Each summer, the Colorado Talking Book Library hosts a summer reading program for our patrons ages 5-18. The participants are required to report their hours on a weekly basis to be eligible to win prizes. Contact: TBD
