School Nurse Orientation (SNO) 2019

School Nurse Orientation is a 3 day conference that provides a comprehensive introduction to School Nursing in Colorado. 

Space is limited and priority will be given for new or fairly new registered school nurses.

Following participation in this conference, school nurses will:

  • Be aware of the implications of professional nursing practice and understand the role of the school nurse.
  • Identify laws and regulations that impact health care in the school setting.
  • Understand the role of the school nurse under IDEA as a related service provider.
  • Be able to apply safe and legal principles of nursing to the administration of nursing tasks, record keeping, immunizations, and addressing the needs of students with special health care needs and disabilities.
  • Have opportunities to apply techniques that will be useful in their practice.

Continuing Education Credits: Contact hours will be available to all attendees.  An attendance certificate will be given to everyone at the close of the meeting.
