Principal Leadership Institute Pathway: First Year Principals

School leaders in the first year principal pathway will learn to foster relationships to build a positive learning environment for the entire school community. Leaders in the Principal Leadership Institute will discover ways to assess the school’s current systems, team structures, and instructional practices to inform a strategic plan for improvement. By learning how to balance the managerial demands of the principalship with best practices of instructional leadership, they will lay the foundation for developing Distributive Leadership practices and empower staff to achieve a true sense of collective efficacy so that stakeholders in a building have ownership and a sense of responsibility in the leading and learning for all students. Having a principal coach in the first two years of the principalship will set our new leaders up for continued success.
