Licensure + Master of Arts in Education


Year 1 Traditional Residency Program 

During the licensure prep year, all courses are completed online in the fall and spring semester in conjunction with student teaching. Students complete 24 hours per week in a mentor teacher's classroom throughout the school year, culminating with 5 weeks of full time teaching near the end of spring. 

Year 1: Alternative License Program 

This program is designed for candidates who currently teach or have secured a full time teaching position in a Colorado K-12 school with proof of employment, candidates will work under an Alternative License (granted by the CDE), complete online coursework and will be required to meet with a mentor one hour per week in addition to their full time teaching responsibilities. 

Year 2 for both programs You may continue toward earning your Master of Arts in Education degree with an additional year of coursework (16 credits).
