Program Description: District 49 provides approved training for Colorado evaluators as part of our Aha! Network. Our program includes an initial 1-day workshop in the summer, followed by an additional on-site training day in the fall. Training through guided instructional rounds, on-line collaboration, dialogue and support is also included as part of the program. Intended participant outcomes include an understanding of:

• The critical effects of Senate Bill 10-191

• The Educator Quality Standards including teacher, principal and special service provider performance standards, elements and professional practices

• Evaluation processes, best-practices and time management

• Importance of effective feedback that improves teaching, learning and educator performance outcomes

• The Colorado Model Educator Evaluation System rubric and scoring procedures

• Inter-rater reliability

• Measures of student learning / outcomes

• Uses for state assessment in educator evaluation

• Alignment of school / district initiatives (programs, accountability systems and evaluation)

• Available resources that support evaluators in effective evaluation practices
