Drop-in Messaging about Physical Distancing
You can use messages as is or tailor to match your local policy.
For Parents
Following guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Colorado Department of Education, [SCHOOL DISTRICT] asks teachers and students to stay at least six feet (about two arms length) away from others to reduce disease transmission, especially for adults and middle and high school students. When six feet of physical distancing is not possible, three feet will still provide substantial benefits and is effective in helping to control virus spread among students. You can help us keep our students and staff safe and healthy by underscoring the importance of physical distancing with your student(s).
COVID-19 spreads easily through physical contact between people, which is why it is important to limit close contact with members outside of the family group and avoid crowded places where it is difficult to keep safe distance between people. Doing this helps minimize the risk to staff and students when children return to school.
For Educators
Physical distancing inside and outside of classrooms is essential in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Following guidance from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment and the Colorado Department of Education, [SCHOOL DISTRICT] asks teachers and students to stay at least six feet (about two arms length) away from others to reduce disease transmission, especially for adults and middle and high school students. However, when six feet is impossible among students, three feet physical distance still provides substantial benefits and is effective in helping to control virus spread. However, teachers and other adult staff should make the greatest effort to adhere to 6-foot distancing, as their risk and disease transmission potential is higher than students. Teachers should create a seating chart and have children remain in their assigned seats throughout the day as much as possible.
