Help ensure all children in Colorado have access to summer meals

DENVER - The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), administered by the Colorado Department of Education’s Office of School Nutrition, ensures that children continue to receive meals during the summer when they do not have access to school lunch or breakfast.

Sponsors at the local level include public and private non-profit school districts, local government agencies, camps and other nonprofit community organizations that have the ability to manage a food service program. Participating sponsors then identify eligible sites in their areas that provide free meals to children 18 years and younger.

Thanks to our sponsors and sites, more than 1.4 million meals were served to children throughout Colorado last summer!

To be part of ensuring all Colorado children have access to summer meals, become a sponsor, site or state partner for the SFSP.

To learn more about the program, visit the CDE SFSP webpage or contact Ashley Moen, MS, RD, SNS at moen_a@cde.state.co.us.
