Session Description

This is the first of two sessions.

The goal of this session is to provide participants with a step-by-step planning process for ensuring that students with the most significant support needs are receiving quality transition services; and to provide service providers with needed resources to address all of the requirements of the law. Resources and examples with be provided for each step and participants will have an opportunity to work together to apply these steps to students they support.

Areas covered: Self-determination; transition assessments for students with very complex needs; appropriate and measurable post secondary goals; transition services; Course of study and annual goals. Scenarios will be provided with IEP examples for each area.
