Request for Closing a School


Instructions

In order for CDE to close an existing school, a district / BOCES must submit the following information using this online form and in writing, signed by the superintendent or BOCES executive director.

All requests to close a school code will be evaluated to determine whether appropriate treatment for purposes of data integrity and educational accountability requires the continuation of an existing school code instead. Districts may be required to submit the Enrollment Calculator (XLSX).
