Welcome to the 2024 Colorado Teacher of the Year Application

Each year, the Colorado Teacher of the Year Program honors an exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled K-12 classroom teacher to represent the entire profession in the state. The selected teacher will also automatically become Colorado's nominee for the National Teacher of the Year competition and earn a seat on the Commissioner's Teacher Cabinet.

You're here because you were likely nominated by someone in your school community who thinks you are a great candidate for our state's next Teacher of the Year! Congratulations!

We understand this application process may seem overwhelming, but we're here to help. This application takes some time to complete but you don't have to finish it all at once. When you start the application, you will be prompted to set up a login so that you can return to it any time until the deadline of Friday, June 16, 2023.
