Jennifer Turnbull

Biography

Jennifer Turnbull provides AEC Accountability Work Group with her expertise in qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. Ms. Turnbull recently began working for The New America Schools as their Senior Research and Assessment Analyst. She worked for Momentum Strategy and Research and the Colorado League of Charter Schools as their Senior Research and Evaluation Associate for the better part of a decade where her work provided charter schools in Colorado information to guide research-based practices for assessing school quality and developing sound performance measures. During her time at the League, Ms. Turnbull was involved in grant writing and conducting cutting edge research on the growth expectations for students attending Alternative Education Campuses, using both “Colorado Growth Model” methodology and data from the Northwest Education Association’s Measures of Academic Promise assessment and comparing the growth and performance of charter schools and traditional public schools in Colorado. She also worked extensively to support benchmarking and data analytics for a number of charter schools across Colorado and conducted and developed group and individual school trainings on school improvement planning, the use of data to inform instruction, performing root cause analysis, and general information sessions on local, state, and federal accountability systems.
