Pause on 2020-21 and 2021-22 State Accountability System Due to COVID-19

A second year of Accountability Pause (2021-2022) has been authorized by the Colorado legislature. The state's accountability system has been paused for 2020-21 and 2021-22. More details on the implications of a pause in accountability are available in the links below.

In the spring of 2014, 113 districts participated in the annual UIP/Accountability Needs Assessment. The survey focused on the measures, metrics and design of the school and district performance frameworks in order to get input for the release of the next iteration of frameworks in 2016. The Center for Assessment analyzed the results and conducted additional focus group conversations for CDE. The Center for Assessment has released a report summarizing the results and recommending next steps.

The Accountability Work Group is using the results from this report to begin conversations around recommendations to the Commissioner for the next iteration of the School and District Performance Frameworks.

As draft recommendations and analyses are available, they will be posted on this page.
