Minimum Standards Rulemaking

The CDE School Transportation Unit is currently in the process of updating the Colorado Minimum Standards Governing School Transportation Vehicles (1 CCR 301-25).  The proposed changes reflect the input and recommendations from school transportation stakeholders that we have received.  Additionally, the proposal includes changes to the current restrictions on over-the-road motor coach buses by school districts.

Redlined Version Old Numbering

 This version tracks changes made, including highlighting additions and deletions. Given the restructuring of the document resulting from the combination of the separate body and chassis sections, this version of the proposed rules does not reflect the final ordering of the rules.  The final version of the proposed rules will present the various topics in alphabetical order for ease of reference.  However, this version was designed to allow the reader to view all of the prior language on a topic together (both from the body and chassis sections) in order to provide a comprehensive and detailed presentation of the proposed changes.  As such, the rules are not presented in numerical order.

This version provides a “clean” presentation of the proposed rules.  As stated above, this version of the proposed rules does not reflect the final ordering of the rules.  The final version of the proposed rules will present the various topics in alphabetical order for ease of reference.    

Redlined Version Renumbered

Given the restructuring of the document resulting from the combination of the separate body and chassis sections, it is necessary to repeal and re-enact the Minimum Standards rules.   This version tracks changes made at a global level and will be the format used for the official rulemaking process.  This version of the proposed rules does reflect the final ordering of the rules with the various topics related to the body and chassis in alphabetical order for ease of reference.  

Standard Version Renumbered

This version provides a “clean” presentation of the proposed rules in the final state.  As stated above, this version of the proposed rules does reflect the final ordering of the rules with the various topics related to the body and chassis in alphabetical order for ease of reference.
