The theme for this conference—Science Runs Through It—emphasizes how everything is science, is related to science, or incorporates science. The conference is organized around three strands: PreK–8 Science: A Playground for Literacy and Mathematics; Engineering the Engineering: Connecting the Why to the How; and Exploring STEM: Inside and Out.

Teams of students, from grades 3-8, can compete to save energy and win great prizes and awards for their schools and organizations.

eCYBERMISSION is a web-based Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics competition for 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade teams. Your team will propose a solution to a real problem in your community and compete for State, Regional and National Awards.
Register by January 15, 2014. Competition: March 1, 2014.
In the ExploraVision competition, teams of two to four students (along wih a teacher and mentor) choose a technology that's currently in use and explore what the technology does and how it came about; then they imagine the possiblities of what that technology could be like in the future and what problems it could solve that it doesn't solve now.

BSCS has announced the next Colorado Champions for STEM Education Leadership Academy. This two-year program is designed to strengthen STEM education in Colorado by helping school and district-based leadership teams increase their understanding and enactment of effective STEM teaching and learning.
