Update Local Standards

The first step in the transition phase is to make key decisions about local standards. State law (SB 08-212) requires districts and school boards to review and revise current standards in comparison with the Colorado Academic and English Language Proficiency Standards by December 2011. Districts may accomplish this in one of two ways:

  1. Review and revise existing local standards to meet or exceed the new Colorado standards in all content areas and English language proficiency.

    OR

  2. Adopt Colorado Academic Standards and Colorado English Language Proficiency Standards as written.
