Understand the Terminology
Each printable Colorado Academic Standards document features an introductory section that explains new terminology not found in the previous standards such as “prepared graduate competency” and “evidence outcomes.”
Understanding the new terminology will help school districts clarify their vision for students and design a plan to reach that vision.

Steps:

View the terminology PowerPoint with notes.

Download and print the introductory section, i.e., the pages that are in front of the standards pages, for one content area in the Colorado Academic Standards. For most standards, the introductory section is about 20 pages long.

Use the blank standards template and arrow master color resource to complete the activities in the PowerPoint. Activities are designed for groups, but can be done individually as well.
