Awareness and Dissemination

The first phase in the standards implementation process involves reframing the conversation about standards-based teaching and learning. During this phase, school districts communicate to staff about the new Colorado Academic Standards and Colorado English Language Proficiency Standards, including:

• How and when the standards were revised

• What are the key elements of the standards

• What is the terminology used in the standards

• How to create an intentional plan for implementation
