CRF Lesson Maps
Lesson Maps and Templates
Lesson Maps and Templates are powerful tools developed by the Western Regional Technical Assistance Center to help teachers deliver 90+ minutes of explicit, teacher-directed instruction in the core reading program.
Lesson Maps assist teachers in prioritizing what's most important to teach, making instruction more explicit, pacing their lessons, and providing teacher-directed reading instruction. The Lesson Maps also contain recommendations for where to replace or add activities to make the core program more explicit or systematic.
Templates are generic instructional routines that incorporate effective instructional techniques such as unison oral response, signaling, brisk pacing, immediate corrective feedback, and teaching to mastery.
