Identity Management System Implementation Update
Attn: Superintendents, DACS
CDE continues the implementation of our identity Management System. The CDE Identity Management System incorporates Single Sign-on and Delegated Administration features, streamlines the user management experience and provides greater control and flexibility to school districts in providing access to applications and data.
As applications are added to the CDE Identity Management System, district-authorized users will be able to access these applications using a single user ID and password. Currently, we are implementing this process in conjunction with the roll-out of the new private-facing Colorado Growth Model and, in the future, will include Automated Data Exchange (ADE), Colorado Adult Education System for Accountability and Reporting (CAESAR), Record Integration Tracking System (RITS), Colorado Education Data Analysis & Reporting System (CEDAR), as well as any new applications. For more information about the Identity Management System, please see the FAQs on the CDE Web site: (https://cdeapps.cde.state.co.us/faqs.html)
To avoid a large rush of registrations to your district’s Local Access Managers (LAMs) around the August release of the 2009-2010 Colorado Growth Model data, please register your district's LAM as soon as possible. You will also want this for the Growth Model training the upcoming CASE conference. Thank you in advance for your support of this critical effort.

Educator Identifier Project – Identifiers Are Here
Attn: Superintendents, Principals, Data Contacts, Registrars, HR, Technical Staff
Identifiers have now been assigned to all educators in Colorado that were included in the 2009-10 HR Collection. Districts are now able to log in (at the link below) and download the identifiers into their systems. At this point, all districts should have submitted respondent forms for system access. If you haven’t, please do so immediately. This is the only way your district will be able to obtain the identifiers.
Forms can be found at http://www.cde.state.co.us/edidproject/Resources.asp For more information, please see the Educator Identifier Project Web site located on CDE’s home page.

Reminder
Request for Recommendations: State Talent Pool
Attn: Superintendents, District Curriculum and Professional Development Supervisors, Principals
The Colorado Department of Education maintains a file of emerging classroom leaders who are considered distinguished teachers and principals. These educators may be candidates for advisory boards, task forces and special recognition programs. Your recommendations will identify educators who will be of great value to your community and state and who may also ultimately receive prestigious recognition.
We are very fortunate to have a rich base of veteran educators represented in our current talent pool. They have been and continue to be a valuable resource in our state efforts. What is particularly lacking at this time is representation from educators relatively new to the profession who demonstrate unusual instructional and leadership ability. Such persons exhibit strong potential for professional leadership and inspiring presence that impacts students, colleagues and community.
Do you know a relatively new educator that is illustrative not only of our states, but also the nation's best? Whose lessons provide models for others? Who has distinguished him/herself above and beyond established top-quality professionals in many of our schools?
A minimum of five years in education is a must. Candidates are building level personnel. They are typically classroom teachers as opposed to specialists and are recognized by peers and supervisors as unique in their growth. Occasionally a principal or specialist is considered. Previous recognition is not required. In fact, of special interest are educators who are outstanding, but have not received other recognition. Completed recommendations must be submitted by Friday, July 9, 2010.
