Formative Assessment Provider List Now Available

Attn: Superintendents, District Personnel

The new Formative Assessment Provider List is now available. The purpose of this list is to identify providers that deliver and support the implementation of proven formative assessment systems. In this context, the term “formative assessment” refers to interim assessments, benchmark assessments, or any other similar tools that are designed and used to gauge the academic progress students make during a school year. The aim of these formative assessment tools is to increase student achievement in the following ways:
• Expand the capacity of low performing school districts to use results from formative assessments;
• Use results to guide teachers’ instructional decisions and monitor student progress; and
• Enhance the Colorado growth model by integrating formative results.

To access a matrix that includes information on each of the providers, please visit the Web site below.

District and School Access to TELL Colorado Data

Attn: Superintendents, Principals, Teacher Leaders

Thanks to the more than 23,000 Colorado educators that participated in the TELL Colorado survey -- and thanks to those individuals that encouraged educators to participate.

Districts and schools that met the 50 percent threshold have early permission to access their own data. Data is also being made available to districts that hit the 40 percent mark (and included more than 20 educators). An e-mail was sent earlier this week to superintendents, principals and teacher leaders that contained a unique password to access their data. However, there were many e-mails that bounced back. If your district and/or school is eligible for this early access and the e-mail did not make it to you, contact CDE (preferably by e-mail).
