Unified Improvement Planning Process and Training
Attn: Superintendents, Title I Directors, Title II Directors, Title III Directors, District Leadership Teams, and anyone else involved in the development of the district improvement plans

In response to requests from districts for a more concise and aligned process for district improvement plans, CDE has been working on a unified improvement plan process. A district improvement plan template is being developed that incorporates state and NCLB improvement and accountability requirements into a single improvement plan. The district improvement plan template will be disseminated next week and a webinar will be held on Friday, Nov. 20 to provide an overview of the unified improvement planning process, elicit input from districts, and answer initial questions.
CDE will provide regional professional development on the unified district improvement plan template and planning process to district leadership teams in Dec. and Jan. A registration form for the regional trainings will be included in the state and NCLB Accountability notification letters and posted in The Scoop on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Additional technical assistance will be provided to districts that are on Accreditation Notice with Support, Title I Corrective Action, or are participating in a Comprehensive Appraisal for District Improvement (CADI).
Feedback from districts will be an integral part of the refinement process as CDE revises, finalizes and transitions to the unified improvement planning process and template for the 2010-2011 school year.
