3/7/2013 - 3/7/2013
8:00:00 AM - 3:30:00 PM
This comprehensive training will focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) specific transition assessments, planning and preparing the individual with ASD for employment and living environments. Writing meaningful and attainable transition plans for secondary students on the autism spectrum will be covered during the training along with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet Indicator 13 transition requirements for Colorado. IEPs that focus on autism specific best practices and educational programming for school and transition-aged students with ASD will be covered during this one day training.
Are your transition plans focused on developing talents for your students with ASD? Thoughts from Temple Grandin and Jed Baker’s most recent work on this subject will be addressed on this much needed topic of Transition. This is a great training for practitioners responsible for developing solid transition plans and supports for students with ASD.
This Level 2 workshop is open to all participants who have previously attended the Level 1 Autism Introduction training (two or three day). Those who do not meet this minimum but who have a similar content background are encouraged to inquire for individual enrollment decisions.
