Colorado Special Education Advisory Committee (CSEAC) is a state level committee mandated by federal and state law. Members are interested in the quality of education received by children/youth with disabilities. The committee includes parents of and individuals with disabilities, educational service providers, administrators and representatives from a variety of related agencies. Participation is statewide and representative of diverse disabilities.

The State Advisory Committee for Gifted Education was created by the Colorado State Board of Education in 1984 to assist in the improvement of gifted education. Congressional district representatives, appointed by the state board, serve on SAC for three year terms. SAC communicates recommendations to the SBE concerning all aspects of gifted and talented student education.

This practical, user-friendly training will focus on data collection and the rationale and necessity for using it, types of data collection, behavior data collection systems and how to establish criteria for how and when to collect data for ideal classroom settings. This training will be interactive and participants will be practicing the strategies for collecting data with video examples. Graphing and interpreting the data will also be participant activities in the additional day.
