Seven possible dates & locations to choose from: Developing Quality Transition IEPs; Weaving Transition Assessment Throughout the IEP
This basic level training, primarily designed for special education teachers, will address areas of improvement needed for AUs compliance with Indicator 13 and development of quality transition IEPs. Participants will develop skills needed to view assessment data through a transition lens, and use assessment data to develop comprehensive courses of study, specific transition services and strongly linked annual goals that align with students' post-school goals. Participants will have hands on practice reviewing and writing quality transition IEPs.
Objectives:
Participants will:
• learn required components of a transition IEP
• review case examples of course of study, transition services, and annual goals
• practice re-writing course of study, transition services and goals using their own sample IEPsWho should attend:
• secondary special education teachers
• school psychologists
• transition coordinatorsCredit available?
6 hours of continuing education credit will be awarded
