Dear Colleagues,
Our Data Pipeline solution is almost here and it will transform CDE’s state-wide reporting while increasing the quality and usefulness of education information for everyone. Data Pipeline will be the foundation of all future data integration efforts and will support such upcoming projects as the Teacher-Student Data Link (TSDL) and extensions to SchoolView.
With your leadership and support, we will realize two very important dates:

July 01 2013: Student/ Educator IDs and Directory Information open in Data Pipeline

September 01, 2013: All Interchanges and Periodic Snapshots “go-live" in Data Pipeline
I am highly encouraged by the way your data coordinators, process owners and IT vendors have openly coordinated with CDE and other LEAs to determine the changes required to your existing systems and processes to work with Data Pipeline. Data Pipeline represents a very big change for all of us. Therefore, we should expect that CDE and LEA data processes will continue to evolve well after the September 1st go-live.
Your leadership involvement in making Data Pipeline a success is incredibly important. Please recognize that change is never easy, so please provide your staff the uninterrupted time to make the necessary process changes and system modifications to meet these important dates.
I’m looking forward to the beginning of the 2013/14 school year, and I am excited about the prospect of helping CDE achieve its goal of providing: “Relevant Information to Strengthen Education”.
