School or District Highlights
- This year Colorado was recognized for its achievement in High
School implementation, and 2 Colorado High Schools were invited to
participate in an invite only national PBIS center sponsored two-day
event. These schools were Mountain View High School (Loveland,
CO) and Fruita Monument High School (Fruita, CO). During this
event 12 High Schools from across the country worked together to
begin a PBIS monograph to inform the work of current and future high
school implementers across the country. The monograph will
focus on an introduction to PBIS in the high school setting,
connecting academics and behavior, roles/function of administration,
data systems/data-based decision making, staff participation, and
professional development. This monograph will be available to
the public late fall of 2009.
- School Board report given to the Thompson School District School Board by the PBIS Coaches. This report show cases their efforts as of January 2009 and featured the large impact their efforts in PBIS had upon reduction in suspension and expulsion rates.
