OSN Direct Certification Training for School Year 2014-2015

The new Direct Cert system, which will be part of the claim system, is scheduled to open in July for uploads for the 14-15 school year. In order to get everyone prepared to use the new system and to increase our low state-wide match rates, thanks to our Direct Certification Improvement Grant, the OSN has scheduled 21 regional in-person Direct Cert trainings. These are taking place from April – August, and it is required that at least one of each SFA’s Direct Cert users attends in person. If the SFA has two Direct Cert users, the second user may also come in person or elect to complete the training and quiz online. (The online training must be completed by Monday 4 August 2014.) This training requirement is part of Colorado’s USDA required Continuous Improvement Plan, which is mandated because of our 4th to lowest match rate in the nation. Additionally, in-person training will help to fill the gap in Direct Cert training, which has not been conducted systematically state-wide since SY 2008-2009. By scheduling so many trainings around the state, we hope to make the locations as convenient as possible to as many people as possible.
