DIBELS Deep

Training Modules:

As a reminder we host a complete virtual training series (free for all ELAT Participants) for DIBELS Deep PA and WRD located within the mCLASS tool.

Log into mCLASS and go to Notices:

  1. Locate the notice from November 16, 2016
  2. Click on that notice to access the training videos and the participant handbook (PDF)

 Updates to DIBELS Deep reporting:

  1. First, we have updated the formatting of the DIBELS Deep classroom report to improve the readability of the form and section column so it’s easier for educators to determine which assessments each student completed.
  2. Second, we have added a new report that educators can use to review individual students’ DIBELS Deep records from prior school years, when available. These reports are available from within the individual Student Summary report page by clicking the printer-friendly icon in the global navigation section of the report heading.

Pathways of Progress:

Why use Pathways:

Pathways of Progress provides an evaluation of individual student growth or improvement over time, compared to other students with the same level of initial skills. This innovative approach empowers educators to set goals that are meaningful, ambitious, and attainable. This tool is available for every student in the mCLASS System.

  • It increases the precision with which progress is evaluated at the student and classroom levels.
  • Pathways of Progress, when combined with the DIBELS Next benchmark goals and DIBELS Next Composite Score, provides teachers with a frame of reference for examining where their students are, specifying where they need to get to, and evaluating whether they are making adequate progress.

Resources to Support  the use of Pathways of Progress:

  1. We currently host a complete course to support Pathways of Progress by one of the authors of DIBELS Next, Roland Good, on the ELAT website.
  2. Access the mCLASS Tips and Tricks for Teachers for an entire section on goal setting and using Pathways of Progress.
  3. Additionally you can access the following mCLASS Training tutorials (log into mCLASS and go to the training tile):

Updates to Pathways of Progress: Middle of year Pathways of Progress checkpoints - Check in on progress at the composite level as well as the measure level at middle of the year:

We are pleased to announce the following planned updates for Pathways of Progress within our mCLASS:DIBELS Next reports:

  • By the end of 2017, we will present, in our onscreen classroom reports, the Pathway Achieved at MOY for students, allowing educators to monitor their students’ mid-point progress toward end-of-year goals.
  • Additionally, we will display the Pathway Set and Achieved at MOY and EOY for each underlying DIBELS Next measure, in addition to composite scores, within our classroom reports.
  • Within our Reporting and Analysis Suite’s Download Your Data report, we will:
    • Display the Composite Score Pathway Set by educators as soon as it has been set. The Pathway Set will appear within each TOY row for students. This update will be available in the Fall.
    • Display the Composite Score MOY Pathway Achieved for each student. This update will be available by the end of 2017.
