Effective educators are the single most important school based factor determining student success. It is widely recognized that teachers and principals have a far-reaching and profound impact on their students.
To achieve maximum results with students, educators need clear, frequent feedback about how their teaching and leadership impact student learning. Teachers and principals also deserve ongoing training and support to skillfully address new challenges and meet their students' needs.
In 2010, Senate Bill 10-191 was passed changing the way both principals and teachers are supported and evaluated in Colorado. The new requirements acknowledge the central role of educators and provide the opportunity to reflect and refine their practice in order to continually meet the needs of their students.
