Policy for Determining Paper-Based Testing vs. Online Testing

The paper/pencil accommodation form is only available for a student who:

  • Has a neurological disorder, a condition that causes seizures, or another health condition that prevents the student from accessing the computer*
  • Needs a braille form with tactile graphics
  • Requires assistive technology not compatible with TestNav 8
  • Writes responses in a language other than English or Spanish

*Students with disabilities that prevent them from utilizing devices safely may meet this criterion.

Also, students who are court-ordered to not use the Internet are still able to test online as the TestNav8 software is configured to “lock-down” any internet access.

If a student is court-ordered to not use a computer, choose the Paper/Pencil option.
