Colorado State Board of Education
Welcome to the State Board of Education web site. Members of the Colorado State Board of Education are charged by the Colorado Constitution with the general supervision of the public schools. They have numerous powers and duties specified in state law. Individuals are elected on a partisan basis to serve six-year terms without pay.

The State Board hopes that this format will provide greater access and information to the education community and the public.

It is likely the Colorado State Board of Education will not hold a meeting in July.
All rulemaking hearings and appeals will be held in the State Board Room of the Colorado Department of Education, 201 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80203.
Regarding the rulemaking hearings set forth above, the state board of education appreciates written comments on any of the proposed rules. Please send written comments to the State Board Office at state.board.efilings@cde.state.co.us. Written comments provided to the State Board Office will be reviewed by the state board and will remain in the permanent file if they are provided at least one week in advance of the hearing.
If you wish to testify at a rulemaking hearing, a sign-up sheet will be provided prior to the hearing. Testimony is general limited to three minutes per person. For questions, please call the State Board Office at (303) 866-6817.
