Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners offered by Jackson Educational Consulting

Program Description

This course, designed for teachers who are active in the classroom, will look at the many ways that diversity is represented in both the classroom and the wider educational community. The class will be divided into two major categories: elements that affect learning and elements that affect teaching. Among the topics discussed will be context, history, language, opportunity, and social development. The course will ask participants to look at their own philosophies of teaching and learning; however, each weekly discussion will be grounded in practical and useful strategies for the classroom.
