Program Description

The purpose of the MLE Teacher Qualification Training Program is to ensure that DPS is hiring and training a sufficient number of fully qualified teachers to serve our Multilingual Learners. The MLE Teacher Qualification requirement is grounded in our DPS value of Equity, as the courses provide teachers with tools and supports to ensure every student in their classroom can equitably participate. The following courses comprise the MLE Teacher Qualification Training Program:  

  • MLE Foundations (101, 102, 103);
  • MLE 104: Instructional Conversations; 
  • MLE 105A: English Language Development OR MLE 105B: Integrated Content & Language Development; 
  • MLE 201: Culturally & Linguistically Responsive Teaching;  
  • MLE 202: Literacy Development for Multilingual Learners
