CDE Early Childhood Special Education Advisory Committee

The purpose of the CDE Early Childhood Special Education Advisory Committee is to improve outcomes for young children with disabilities, by bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders to collaborate, advise and make recommendations to the Colorado Department of Education on behalf of young children with disabilities and their families. Each committee member will represent a stakeholder group invested in improving outcomes for young children with disabilities and their families. In addition the committee will have geographic representation from across Colorado.

Members will be appointed to a three year-term, those interested in continuing beyond the first 3 year term may be re-appointed to a second term. The Early Childhood Special Education Advisory Committee has four scheduled meetings per year. Attendance at each meeting is expected. During scheduled meetings, work groups may meet for the purpose of product and/or content development, as needs are identified. Although infrequent, additional time may be necessary to meet outside of regularly scheduled meetings or work independently to complete a project.
