Elementary Literacy and School Readiness (ELSR) Regional Support

Overview

The Literacy Team in the Office of Elementary Literacy and School Readiness support the implementation of the Colorado Reading to Ensure Academic Development Act (READ Act). They provide guidance, data analysis, professional development and monitoring to districts and schools in support of scientifically and evidence-based reading instruction. ELSR Senior Literacy Consultants will provide two types of support to the field: universal and individual district or BOCES support.

Universal support will be offered to all districts and BOCES in an ELSR support region; examples of this support include monthly live READ Act office hours, webinars, CoLabs, and more.

Support requested by a district or BOCES is individual district or BOCES support. This support may include UIP support, assistance with curriculum selection, questions on professional development created by the Literacy Team, guidance on identifying students with significant reading deficiencies (SRD), guidance on the READ Act and rule, data review, and more.
