Disproportionate Discipline Task Force

Task force – Disproportionate Discipline 

The School Discipline Task Force was created as part of the 2023 legislative session (S.B.23-029) to study and make recommendations regarding school district discipline policies and practices, State and Local discipline reporting requirements, and local engagement. 

  • The bill requires that 18 task force members (as further defined in the bill) be appointed on or before September 30, 2023.   

  • And that on or before October 15, the Commissioner, or the Commissioner’s Designee call the first meeting of the task force.   

  • The task force meets at least six times between October 15, 2023, and the first review committee meeting in 2024.   

  • A final report is due by August 1, 2024.
