Results Matter and CPP
Another requirement for CPP funding is participation in
Results Matter, our authentic assessment and online data collection.
The purpose of Results Matter is to positively influence the lives of children and families by using child, family, and system outcomes data to inform early childhood practices and policy.

Observation: The Heart of Authentic Assessment
This workshop focuses on the skill of observing young children and recording objective notes about what is observed. Ongoing observation really is the heart of authentic assessment, an essential part of the Results Matter program. Observation helps providers and families learn about child growth and development so that they can appropriately plan for each child’s needs and accurately rate child progress on the ongoing assessment systems used in Results Matter. The workshop format is interactive, with opportunities to watch video clips of young children and to practice observation skills. This workshop is designed for entry level teachers and paraprofessionals, but full team participation is strongly encouraged. Observation: The Heart of Authentic Assessment is required for those persons leading or assisting with the assessment process that have not yet had an early childhood assessment course that included observation skills training. This workshop, available at no charge through Results Matter, is scheduled to be offered as described below, however, program or community teams may also schedule a local training for groups of 10 to 50 providers by emailing their request to debsf15@gmail.com.
