Sample message to schools with PTA’s and NEA’s Teacher Appreciation Week resources on how to engage parents

May 8-12 is Colorado Teacher Appreciation Week

Colorado Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8-12, 2017 during National Teacher Appreciation Week! Is your school looking for ways to engage parents to participate and give thanks to Colorado teachers for all they do?

The National Parent Teacher Association (PTA)has created a #ThankATeacher promotional event toolkit with resources on how to get parents involved including sample social media messaging and images, print color flyers and more!

Here are a few ways your school can invite parents to get involved:

  • Have their child sign and present PTA's ready-made thank-you cards to their teachers!
  • Have your school principal, PTA/PTSA president or student sign and present PTA's ready-made appreciation certificates to the teachers in your life.
  • Share photos and your activities during the week by using the hashtag #ThankATeacherCO on social media!
  • On Thursday, upload a #TBT of you and your favorite teacher and thank them using the official hashtag #ThankATeacherCO.

PTA has also partnered with the Nation Education Association (NEA) to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and National Teacher Day, May 9, 2017.  Check out NEA's National Teacher Day artwork for web, social media, and printable flyers to help you plan your #ThankATeacherCO events during this week.

Let's celebrate Colorado teachers for motivating and inspiring students every day!
