Next Meeting of Public School Capital Construction Assistance Board Is Wednesday, Nov. 10 in Denver
The next meeting of the Public School Capital Construction Assistance Board (CCAB) is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 10.
The meeting will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the State Services Building, 1525 Sherman St., Suite B-70, in Denver.
The meeting agenda includes:
- Roll call;
- Approve agenda;
- Approve minutes from October meeting;
- Board report;
- Directors report
- Election results;
- Summarize Oct. 29 CCAB meeting;

· Action Items:
a. Adopt Resolution 10-5 instructing the State Treasurer pursuant to 22-43.7-110(2) C.R.S. to enter into one or more lease-purchase agreements on behalf of the State to provide financial assistance to the BEST Lease-Purchase projects that were approved by the state board on Aug. 10, and have met the necessary requirements for financing;

b. Approve a decrease in Akron R-1’s match from $7,712,774 to $7,080,066 due to a decrease in assessed valuation in August 2010 which decreases their maximum bonding capacity. This would increase their grant to $17,022,353
· Discussion Topics
a. Discussion pertaining to COP project scoring;
b. Discussion pertaining to process for selecting projects to recommend to the state board;
c. Discussion on funding of master plans and master plan requests.

About BEST
The BEST legislation increases the level of financial assistance provided to school districts, charter schools and Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) for capital construction projects, particularly in those school districts that can’t afford to meet their own needs.
The function of the Public School Capital Construction Assistance Board is to protect the health and safety of persons using public school facilities and to maximize student achievement by ensuring public school facilities provide a safe and un-crowded environment that is conducive to student learning.
