Department of Education posts administrative units' IDEA performance

DENVER - The federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires each state department of education to develop a state performance plan/annual performance report that evaluates the state’s efforts to implement the requirements and purposes of the IDEA and describes how the Department of Education will improve its implementation.

States are also required to report to the public on each administrative unit's performance compared to state targets and state performance for 14 indicators from the SPP/APR.

An administrative unit includes school districts, boards of cooperative services, multi-district administrative units, or schools under the state charter school institute, that provide educational services to exceptional children.

The performance profiles for each administrative unit in Colorado include both performance and compliance indicators and are posted on the Colorado Department of Education's website.
