News Language Immersion READ Act Focus Group

The Literacy Office at the Colorado Department of Education will be convening a focus group of district and school level staff who are responsible for leading language immersion programs at the elementary level.  The purpose of the focus group is to explore the unique issues related to implementing the Colorado READ Act in language immersion programs.  The department intends to use input from the focus group to draft guidance to assist schools in meeting the requirements of the READ Act while remaining consistent with the needs of language immersion programs.

The department will convene the focus group from August through the fall with the first meeting scheduled for August 25 from 2:00 to 3:00.The focus group will be held at the Colorado Department of Education, State Board Room, 201 E. Colfax Ave. Conference call-in information will be provide for those unable to attend in person.
