ELAT January 2016 Newsletter

Keep on Learnin'!

This newsletter is dedicated to resources to support teachers and instructional leaders. All of our resources are developed in a course format so that you can watch and learn at your own pace in smaller units to match your schedule.

Our virtual learning page has been set up so that topics offered are now under a target audience.

Target Audience: All ELAT users

Pathways of Progress: A session provided by Dr. Roland Good

Pathways of Progress, available on mCLASS this year, provides an evaluation of individual student growth or improvement over time, compared to other students with the same level of initial skills. This innovative approach empowers educators to set goals that are meaningful, ambitious, and attainable. It increases the precision with which progress is evaluated at the student and classroom levels. Pathways of Progress, when combined with the DIBELS Next benchmark goals and DIBELS Next Composite Score, provides teachers with a frame of reference for examining where their students are, specifying where they need to get to, and evaluating whether they are making adequate progress.

We are excited to offer comprehensive online course designed to support the use of this powerful individual student goal setting tool. This course is offered  through collaboration with Dynamic Measurement Group and author, Dr. Roland Good.

DIBELS Deep: Not hosted on the website but available through school usernames and passwords. Available now.

Free online training offered through Dynamic Measurement Group is available for all teachers / interventionists / instructional leaders. This is a session offered annually at the DIBELS Super Institute.  Each school has received four usernames and passwords that can be used by multiple users. The information was emailed directly to schools in districts that have one or two elementary schools. In larger districts (more than three elementary schools) the usernames and passwords were sent to your district program contact for distribution. These licenses are available for use through 6/15/16.

Please contact Donna Bright / bright_d@cde.state.co.us if you have questions.

Target Audience: Instructional Leaders

We have three new virtual opportunities designed for instructional leaders, each one is designed to support leaders in conversations and learning with teachers.
