DIBELS Benchmark Goals:
The University of Oregon DIBELS Data System released a report this summer suggesting that all DIBELS Next probes no longer need to be given at each grade level and that the system will no longer require calculation of a composite score. The University of Oregon DIBELS Data System is recommending new benchmark goals which are not the same as the benchmark goals recommended by Dynamic Measurement Group, the authors of DIBELS Next. For all state
level reporting, CDE will continue to require use of
the former goals generated by using all probes at
each grade level to determine an overall composite
score. This applies to reporting for the READ Act, the Read To
Achieve Grant, and the Early Literacy Grant.
