Who should attend?
We encourage Administrative Units and BOCES to bring teams which would include the special education director, federal application contact, and business manager.
Event Information
The Grants Fiscal and Exceptional Student Services Units will be hosting a joint training to provide information to the field on special education revenue and expenditure requirements and reporting procedures. Topics will include: Maintenance of Effort (MOE), Federal Application process for IDEA Part B and Preschool (narratives and budgets), project evaluation, requirements for providing services to students with disabilities in charter schools and private schools, Early Intervening Services, staff, and Extended School Year. Training will also cover the web-based system for submitting narratives and budgets, requests for funds, End of Year revenues and expenditures, and the close out process. We are offering one training on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; this training is open to all administrative units, and BOCES. Coffee and tea will be available at 8:30 a.m., and the training will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be served, and the training will go until 4:00 p.m.

Travel and Lodging Reimbursements
Travel and Lodging reimbursements will be calculated for team members utilizing the zone method. The Red Lion Hotel has offered our participants a special room rate of $129.00 until FRIDAY, MAY 4, 2012 **OR** the room block fills. Be sure to indicate you are attending the Colorado Department of Education Training or “COLO0514”. If you are unable to obtain the special room block rate contact the Sales & Catering department at the hotel.
