Fund Raising and Grant Writing Workshop

Danielle Musser, MS, CAPE
Danielle Musser has served as the CAPE for the Montrose County School for 8 years, and was awarded the SHAPE CO APE TOY in 2020, as well as the MCSD Above and Beyond award in 2014.
Target Audience:
This workshop is intended for physical education teachers, adapted physical education teachers, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, special education teachers, and school administrators.
Session Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Identify strengths and weaknesses associated with fundraising
- Create a basic asset tracking spreadsheet
- Identify key ways to ask for what they want
- Use work time to utilize a provided fillable fundraising document
- Identify 5 or more sources with which to partner for grant writing assistance

2 Hours of Continuing Education
Danielle is a member of SHAPE Colorado, SHAPE America, and the CDE APE Advisory Council. She is also active on the national scene both attending and presenting at the National Adapted PE Conference (NAPEC) and for the National Consortium of Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities.
Fundraising and grant writing does not have to be an overwhelming experience. This professional development will provide participants with knowledge gained from firsthand experiences of an adapted physical educator working in the field. Danielle has raised over $130,000 (financial and in-kind contributions) in 8 years. This learning opportunity will include a fillable document for future project planning with work time.
