Parents Encouraging Parents (PEP)

The Exceptional Student Services Unit (ESSU) and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) work to plan PEP Conferences throughout each school year, generally, one conference in the fall and two conferences in the spring.

The PEP Conferences are designed for parents of children with disabilities, ages birth to twenty-one. Parents might include an adoptive parent(s), grandparent(s) or other relative(s), or a single parent. PEP Conferences are also designed for professionals and service providers who have a working relationship with children with disabilities and their families.

note: during pep conferences no children will be permitted to the sessions or dining rooms. childcare, lodging and meals for family members not participating in a conference are not provided.
