Individualized Education Program (IEP)

CDE's Exceptional Student Leadership Unit redesigned the State Recommended IEP forms during the 2007-2008 school year. A dedicated committee of statewide stakeholders including special education directors, practitioners, university professors and parents was formed to develop forms that are in compliance with the Rules and Regulations for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 and the Exceptional Children's Education Act of 2007.

IEP DVD

The Colorado Department of Education Exceptional Student Leadership Unit (ESLU) has developed a DVD on the IEP process. This DVD, presented in English or Spanish, summarizes the IEP process and supplements the information with tips and comments by parents and professionals. The DVD is available through your local district or administrative unit or can be obtained through the ESLU. The following forms provide the literal transcript of the DVD, in English or Spanish and in large print.
