POST SECONDARY OPTIONS

Colorado Law allows high school students in the 11th and 12th grades to apply credit earned at state postsecondary institutions towards their high school graduation requirements.  Eligible students must be under the age of 21, enrolled in the eleventh, or twelfth, grade while attending a Colorado public school district, and must give written notice to the resident school district of their intent to enroll at least two months prior to such enrollment.  This notice must include a description of all relevant coursework and the amount of credit to be earned.  The participating school district and the institution of higher education must enter into a written cooperative agreement which includes, but is not limited to, the amount of credit to be earned and the method by which tuition will be paid.  Please refer to the Colorado School Laws, Post Secondary Enrollment Options Act, 22-35-101 CRS for definitions.
